Ross Trethewey
Founder/Lead EngineerRoss Trethewey is the founder and lead engineer of TE2 Engineering, a firm renowned for its expertise in high-performance HVAC systems and building design, particularly within the high-end residential sector. With years of experience as a licensed Professional Engineer in multiple states, Ross has a deep understanding of the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) disciplines. His career spans both the contractor and manufacturing sides of the business, giving him a unique, well-rounded perspective on designing complex systems for luxury homes, Hotel Villas and Data Centers. Ross has crafted innovative solutions for some of the most prestigious residential properties, ensuring that each home achieves optimal comfort, energy efficiency, and indoor air quality (IAQ). A graduate of Tufts University, Ross holds both a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering. As the Building Engineer for This Old House and Ask This Old House, Ross brings his expertise to television, showcasing cutting-edge technology and sustainable solutions for high-end residential projects. He also frequently appears on Future House, introducing the latest advancements in home design and engineering. Ross is a sought-after speaker at industry events, having presented at conferences such as the International Builders’ Show (IBS), the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB), ASHRAE, the Journal of Light Construction (JLC), Building Science Symposiums, the HVACR Symposium, and the PHCC National Convention. He is also a frequent guest on podcasts, where he discusses high-performance building solutions and MEP systems, HVAC technologies, and the future of sustainable homes. When he's not working on luxury residential projects or sharing his insights at conferences, Ross enjoys spending time with his wife and two young children and exploring the ocean.
Mike Wotus
Senior Project ManagerWith years of proven success as a Project Manager, Mike now applies that expertise in his leadership role as Senior Project Manager. Since joining TE2 in 2017, Mike has provided mechanical consulting services across various sectors, including the nuclear and commercial building industries, while managing projects from high-end residential homes to educational facilities. With extensive experience in providing sustainable and energy-efficient solutions, Mike is dedicated to delivering comfortable, quiet, and healthy indoor environments through advanced engineering solutions. With a Bachelor’s degree in Nuclear Engineering from Pennsylvania State University, Mike is committed to delivering high-quality, efficient solutions tailored to clients' needs. Outside of work, Mike is a proud father of two children and enjoys spending quality time with his family. During his free time, Mike enjoys golf trips with friends, college football Saturdays and hiking the White Mountains in NH.
Scott McFadden
Project ManagerSince joining TE2 in 2018, Scott has honed his skills in designing efficient HVAC systems while continuing to develop his expertise in fire protection. As a Project Manager, he is enthusiastic about providing solutions that best suit the needs of each client. A graduate of Massachusetts Bay Community College with an Associate’s in Engineering Design and Fitchburg State College with a Bachelor’s in Communications Media, Scott began his career as a CAD operator. His journey into fire protection started as a fitter’s apprentice, where he gained hands-on experience before transitioning to system design and engineering. Over the years, Scott has worked on a wide range of projects, including residential sprinkler systems and complex systems in high-rise buildings. His expertise has been pivotal in advancing TE2’s Fire Protection services, where he is leading efforts to broaden its scope. Outside the office, Scott practices Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and trains at Franklin Martial Arts. He studies fitness, history and local history. As a musician, he performs locally and occasionally on the road.
Matt Manteiga
Project ManagerMatt is a client-focused Project Manager, and he uses his skills to successfully plan, manage, and execute projects from start to finish. Matt previously worked as a Design Engineer and Project Engineer at TE2 for over 2 years, and he has proven to lead and solve complex technical challenges. Matt earned a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Tufts University in May of 2021. During his time at TE2 Engineering, he has skillfully contributed to energy modeling and HVAC system design. He prides himself as a problem solver, enthusiastic professional, and enjoys the attention to detail and creative thinking associated with HVAC design. He’s excited to continue to apply and grow his project management and design skills in the HVAC industry. As a retired college track athlete, Matt enjoys staying active, joining local sports leagues, playing pick-up basketball at his local courts and hiking with friends and family. Born and raised a Bostonian, he prides himself as a Boston sports fan, most notably rooting on the Celtics and Patriots. Outside of athletics, Matt loves playing competitive video games and skating with friends.
Matthew Stringfellow
Project EngineerMatthew is a Project Engineer who loves learning new MEP concepts and trying to find the best solutions for unique problems. He first joined the TE2 team as a Design Engineer in 2022, working on energy modeling and HVAC system design. Since joining the company, he has been able to learn a lot about how engineering works in practice, and has really enjoyed the collaborative thinking and problem-solving involved. Matthew graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he enjoyed performing with the MIT Festival Jazz Ensemble and the MIT Wind Ensemble. Besides music, Matthew also enjoys cooking, reading, weightlifting, video games, and spending time with his friends and family.
Kerri Murphy
Project EngineerKerri is a Project Engineer dedicated to delivering innovative solutions that ensure the seamless integration of MEP systems into the building design. Her attention to detail and creative problem-solving skills allows her to design unique, luxurious solutions that align with each owner’s individual vision. She started her journey with the TE2 team as an intern in the summer of 2022, returned as a Design Engineer after graduation, and then moved into her current role as a Project Engineer. Kerri manages projects from concept to completion, embracing collaboration with clients, architects, homeowners, and contractors to ensure that no detail goes unnoticed. Revit has become Kerri’s favorite design tool, allowing her to visualize and coordinate complex systems, making the process more intuitive and impactful. Kerri graduated from Loyola University Maryland with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering, with concentrations in Mechanical and Materials Engineering in May of 2023. Outside of work, you can often find Kerri by the ocean and spending time with her friends and family. Born and raised in Boston, she loves going to sports games and has been attending Patriots games since she was little. She’s a traveler and an explorer at heart and cannot wait to continue exploring New England as well as trips around the world.
Collin Chen
Design EngineerCollin is a Worcester Polytechnic Institute graduate, majoring in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Architectural Engineering. Prior to TE2, he worked CAD drafting positions in the surveying and commercial roofing industries, allowing him to quickly accumulate more than a decade of CAD experience. At TE2, he has been developing his problem solving and MEP design engineering skills since his start in September 2022. He also enjoys working to promote more efficient designs for future sustainability. Collin is a big fan of anything automotive, especially motorsport. Before the pandemic, he could often be found at various autocross events in New England. He also spends time detailing his family’s cars. Collin typically stays active by going on walks, but also enjoys playing soccer or archery shooting. In his down time, he likes playing video games, cooking, and playing guitar and piano.
Edward Luka
Design EngineerEdward joined the TE2 team in 2022, after graduating from Boston University with a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and a concentration in Aerospace Engineering. His passion for engineering goes back to a young age, from building model rockets as a boy to founding a robotics team at his New Jersey high school. He enjoys the HVAC industry’s blend of high-level design challenges and hands-on problem solving, and is excited to apply and improve his skills while creating efficient and comfortable buildings. Outside the office, Edward is a dedicated fan of soccer and F1 racing, a music lover (if not much of a musician), and enjoys hiking and kayaking around New England. In his downtime, he can often be found playing video games with his friends or with his nose buried in a book.
Colin DallaCosta
Design EngineerColin started with TE2 Engineering in July of 2023 as a Design Engineer. In his time at the company, he has gained a foundational understanding of HVAC drafting and load calculations on residential systems. He is eager to gain industry experience with a variety of projects and to improve his design and problem-solving skills. Colin graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in May 2023. While at UMass, he competed as a member of the UMass Rocket Team and gained CAD experience as an astronomy research assistant. Outside of engineering, Colin hosted a college radio show with friends and enjoys listening to music, and stays active by playing soccer and going snowboarding and surfing.
Libby Fitzgerald
Director of AdministrationAs the Director of Administration, Libby oversees human resources, develops organizational policies, coordinates departments, tracks client invoices, maintains employee records, analyzes financial information, and handles various administrative duties. With over 20 years of experience in program management and human resources leadership, Libby joined the TE2 team in December 2022, and she enjoys contributing to the success of the company. Libby is a native of Maine and holds a Master of Science degree in Administrative Studies from Boston College, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business from Stonehill College. Committed to giving back to the community, she actively volunteers with the Massachusetts Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired (MABVI). In her free time, Libby finds joy in spending quality time with her husband and 2 children.
